you are invited...

when i was in grade school and all my friends were trying to start baby-sitters clubs a la ann m. martin in their neighborhoods, i was trying desperately to start a children's birthday party planning club. i was dead serious about it too. i love planning parties. i always have. one of my favorite parts of party planning is designing the invitations. i've been looking through old files on my work computer getting ready to clean it out when i leave at the end of this month. i found this invitation i created for my sister's high school graduation open house. it made me laugh. cuz i'm just so witty.

Vanilla Ice: Sup bro, did you hear about Kate DeKoster’s graduation?

MC Hammer: No man, she actually finished high school!?!

Vanilla Ice: Yeah check it, and they’re having an open house to celebrate!

MC Hammer: Dude that’s tight. Are we invited?

Vanilla Ice: Naw man. . . Psych! Of course we are.

MC Hammer: When is it?

Vanilla Ice: Friday, June 1. From 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

MC Hammer: Yo how far is the drive though? Is it at her parents’ house?

Vanilla Ice: Yeah, but it’s a’ight. It’s not as far as you think. I’ve got directions on this piece of paper.

MC Hammer: Yo sweetness. Hey, isn’t June 1 Kate’s birthday?

Vanilla Ice: Dude, yeah, but keep that on the DL. There’s going to be a fly party after 9:00 for all of Kate’s friends. They’re having music, and dancing, and a big bonfire. . .

MC Hammer: You can’t touch that!

Vanilla Ice: Aw yeah, it’s cool as ice baby!
